Painstaking Pig politeness and good manners may irk some, who consider them aloof. Others may mistake Pigs' tolerance and caring nature for gullibility. This is, in fact, normal Pig friendliness which can at times be carried to extremes.

    Pig in Snake Year 2013-14

This is a year of ups and downs as far as Pig fortunes are concerned. Being patient, understanding and reasonable throughout this period will help you avoid financial losses and other mishaps.

Relationships may suffer due to communication problems leading to argument and dispute, possibly involving third parties. This is not a promising year Health-wise; there may be some internal discomfort. Take care when traveling by road and rail.

The Pig in the Cultures of S. E. Asia

The pig was a symbol of virility, strength, and fertility in ancient Chinese cultures. The Chinese calendar in which the Pig features has been adopted (or exerts a tremendous influence) in many other countries of the region. However, the Pig becomes the Boar in Japan and the Elephant in Thailand when New Year is celebrated.
