The Birth Chart of Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie was born on 4th June 1975 at 9:09am in Los Angeles, California. Although Angelina is a Gemini, with Mercury also placed in this sign, suggesting keen self-expression, wit, intelligence and interest in the world around her, it is really the 'female' planets I wish to focus on in this article.
Angelina has recently undergone a double mastectomy to try to reduce her chances of contracting breast cancer. Her reasons are connected with wanting to be around for her children for many years to come, and the painful and devastating experience of losing her mother to ovarian cancer at the age of 56.
With Cancer rising and Venus placed very closely to the Ascendant, also in the sign of Cancer, we see a great valuing on issues connected with home, family, mother and children. Cancer would also be the sign most associated with the breasts themselves. As a Cancer rising individual, Angelina has the task of exploring these themes as part of her life's journey. Her Cancer emphasis also suggests she has great sensitivity and a powerful vulnerable streak that is at odds with some of her other chart factors, meaning it may not always be seen or appreciated.

Another interesting feature of this Moon configuration is its opposition to Pluto. Now this may indicate that Angelina sees the dark and dangerous as existing outside of her, and this could relate to her fears of contracting cancer, and her determination to take action to prevent this happening.
With such a crusading spirit, and the fierce determination indicated in her chart, it seems that Jolie will always be a pioneer, unafraid to take action that might shock others, or bring controversy.
